The party met Nadine during an expedition to the ruins of Solaris, where she was traveling alone and seemingly aloof to the dangers of the ruins. After an awkward series of introductions, they learned that she is the daughter of Seraphina Onyx, and that she was looking for her father who became lost while exploring (and might already be dead, though that didn't bother Nadine). She is very friendly and exceedingly trusting, taking everything Oliver and Fantasia said at their words even when they were blatantly lying. She is also a bit creepy, but not in a threatening way; quite the opposite, in fact, as between conversations about death and bones she offered the party some bread that she baked herself. 
After seeking shelter together and camping for a night, Nadine and the party went their separate ways-- Nadine was off to find her missing father, and the giant bones they were sent to collect.
