The Lord of Bats
Kannoth (a.k.a. Lord of Bats; The First Vampire)
Said to be the progenitor of all vampires, Kannoth is a monstrous Archfey that appears as a massive bat. Kannoth constantly craves blood-- most of all the blood of mortals, which he hunts relentlessly. If the Lord of Bats were simply a bloodthirsty monster, he would be terrifying enough; however, he is also as cunning as any other Fey. His followers (usually vampires and cultists) say that the curse of vampirism is actually a gift from Kannoth, which allows one to shed mortal weakness and take their place at the top of the food chain. This philosophy of shedding weakness, combined with the predatory nature of Kannoth, grants him a place of high regard in the Unseelie Court.
Kannoth's Tomb
Long ago, Kannoth gained a large following among mortals before being defeated and sealed away in a magical tomb. Before the Realignment it was known that he was locked away; however, it remains a mystery whether he remained in the tomb afterwards.
