The Gods of Foul Influence

The Gods of Foul Influence, also commonly known as The Foul Gods, are a collection of evil deities who have united together to corrupt mortals. Each has their own unique methods and domain, but they are all united in their goal of corrupting the souls of as many mortals as possible and tempting them with their most base desires. Status in the pantheon is not determined by followers, but by the number of souls that have fallen to each deities corruption. The founder and leader of the Pantheon is Yperifanos, The God Binder. The other gods have no set structure as they each compete to claim as many souls as they can, rising in status among the others from time to time, but never managing to overtake Yperifanos. The other members include Therthymos, the Great Slaughterer, Chrylistia, the Golden Goddess, Noth, The Slumbering One, Choira, the Vermin Queen, Zilevo, The Shadow of Treason, and Laneia, the Temptress.

The Gods of Foul Influence are the most widespread pantheon of evil gods, having followers all throughout the world, both above and below the clouds. To many they are an addictive distraction from the struggles of the world, and their corrupting presence is difficult to root out of society. Through their focus on common flaws they have managed to gain some measure of acceptance within much of civilized society, and worship of these gods is more commonly seen as distasteful, but tolerable as long as the individual stays away from the more extreme practices of their faith.

The Foul Gods are also known to frequently overlap with the ideas of various devils and demons, and have been known to employ and work with other planar entities on various occasions.

Tenets of Faith

While the exact requirements of faith are unique to each god in the pantheon, there is a general encouragement to chase ones desires, even at the expense of others. The pantheon encourages a particularly selfish ideology, with the exception of giving others a small sample of the benefits in order to convert them as well.
