The Government is ruled by The Bloodwater Clan, they are forceful in their acquisition of taxes and those that oppose them disappear. Those that they like are well looked after. They own most of the surrounding land and employ the residents of Grimemire to farm it.

The policing presence in Grimemire is provided by The Bloodwater Clan; they operate as a Mafia, owning all the surrounding land and protecting those they deem as useful. Law in Grimemire is punitive, and those that breach the laws can expect hard labour, incarceration, fines, or, depending on severity, execution. Magic is not codified into the laws, though the locals would be more likely to treat it as a threat rather than not.
Infrastructure
There is little to no Trade in Grimemire, and people live a poor existence because of it; some taxes are applied to certain goods and services that are rendered in the town, but the more creative entrepreneurs can find loopholes to make a better profit. Welfare is poor. Citizens can find an education, provided they can pay for it.
