Abyss
The Aether was once a pristine location. The home of the gods, and the plane of elemental air, it gleamed with beauty. Then, Atropus, the World Born Dead broke through the walls of reality. Where he came from, no one is quite sure, but the hole is still there. No one can go through it, however, as it constantly spews Demons, who protect the Abyss as their home.
The Abyss is practically a world of its own. Similar to the Nine Hells, it has layers, though it has far, far more, theoretically infinite amounts of them. It is a place of chaos and evil, likely a reflection of the world Atropus came from. At least 679 layers have been cataloged (Many by the Witch Queen Iggwilv), but there are likely countless more. Each layer is unique, and can have any number of strange characteristics.
