Draconian

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

Draconians are made from dragon eggs, corrupted by dark magic. Around a half dozen can come from a single egg, emerging and growing remarkably quickly to full size and strength.

Growth Rate & Stages

Draconians grow extremely quickly, reaching full size in under a week.

Biological Cycle

A draconian rarely lives long, as most are beings of rage and violence. When they die, they harm those around them in some way, either with toxic gas, lightning, acid, or fire.

Behaviour

Draconians live to fight and kill. They are sentient, but they are dragons corrupted by dark magic, and this affects everything about them. While a few draconians are able to overcome this magic, without aid they are bound to obey their creator, and without orders will tear apart the world around them.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Draconians instinctively follow their creator, unless the dark magic that created them can be broken. Each type also follows higher types the same way: Masterminds listen only to the creator, and who they designate. Dreadnoughts follow Masterminds. Mages and Infiltrators follow Dreadnoughts, while Foot Soldiers simply obey. Inside of factions, Draconians obey the strongest, the biggest, the meanest, and the smartest (especially for Mages, Infiltrators, and Masterminds).

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Draconians are almost always used for war. They make ideal soldiers, as long as you have a steady supply of dragon eggs. The magic used to create them is dark and dangerous, and is not normally used for lesser things.

Facial characteristics

Draconians look very similar to Dragonborn at first glance, but are far more draconic than them. They tend to have wings, tails, and scales all across their bodies, often looking like smaller, bipedal versions of the dragons that their egg came from.

Average Intelligence

Draconian intelligence depends on the kind of dragon egg they were spawned from. Masterminds are quite clever, and are capable of leading their brethren into battle as much as any capable humanoid. Compared to Foot Soldiers, who mostly just exist to follow orders, kill, and destroy.

Civilization and Culture

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Draconians speak Common and Draconic most often, the language of their creator, and the language of their birth. Occasionally a Mastermind will pick up a bit of another language, and Dreadnoughts are often taught a language if they are to be used with their shapeshifting abilities.

History

Draconians were created by experiments done by Indrid Barkrirsk. While experimenting with Personal Deeds and dragon eggs, she discovered a way to corrupt the eggs into birthing loyal monstrosities rather than dragons. Using Bonded dragons to create more and more eggs, Indrid created an army that would be loyal to the Empire of Ilien, and more importantly would be loyal to her. She has not told this second part to Madar Skygrove, and keeps the Draconian's loyalty as yet another card in her hand.
Since their creation, the Draconians have been used only in the Imperial Army. They are the shock troops of the Empire, breaking through defensive lines, taking dangerous locations for the rest of the army to hold them. They are viewed as expendable, and in fact desirable to be killed due to their self destructive capabilities.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Draconians don't think much beyond the combat abilities of other species. Magic scares the weaker Draconians, so any species that commonly uses magic is treated with fear. Of course, fear and anger in a Draconian look quite similar. The only exception to these rules is the Dragonborn and the Dragons. Both are treated with a wary respect, and Draconians will go out of their way to avoid engaging one unless explicitly ordered to do otherwise.
