Captain Rehna
The half-orc Rehna is the captain of The Blade of Durash, and a member of The Skyfarers' Guild rapidly growing in esteem.
Aerolithican by birth, Rehna lived a life of modest means in the capital city of Skyreign. She had a heart for adventure, and would spend her childhood in the Sovereign's Crest Library, enthusiastically reading about heroes from all corners of the realms. Her favourite was of the half-orc Durash, saviour of Coral Harbour, but she also dreamt of the skies, reading about the famed Skyknights and captains of the Skyfarer's Guild.
It was during these visits that she caught the eye of a retired human Guild Captain, Telrick Donnel, who had done well during his career. He would regail Rehna not just with the stories of his life, but he also would talk her through sailing techniques, ship design, and the characteristics of a good crew. Telrick became a mentor to Rehna, and this continued up until she reached adulthood.
One day, Rehna attended the library to hear more of Telrick's words of wisdom, but he was nowhere to be found. Every day for the next two weeks, Rehna returned, but Telrick was not there at their usual table. Her worries for her friend were confirmed, when officials from the Skyfarer's Guild came to her door some days later. Telrick had passed away in his sleep. With no family to speak of, Telrick had left his fortune to his half-orc protege - a sum totalling nearly 100,000gp.
Ensuring she left enough for a comfortable retirement for her parents, Rehna visited the greatest shipyards in Skyreign, using her newfound wealth to commission the ship of her dreams. Fast, sleek, and armed to defend itself, Rehna watched as the ship came together over the coming year. During this time she recruited her crew, a mix of experienced sailors for hire, and trusted friends she knew to have her back.
Eventually the work on the ship was completed, and it was launched with a name fitting a daring half-orc captain: The Blade of Durash.
