Zapharia
Zapharia (a.k.a. The Serpent's Flame)
The tiefling Zapharia is a mage in the service of The Tidewatch in Coral Harbour. She is a warlock, drawing her power from the sea god Aecor.
Born in Emberhold, Zapharia was always had an academic fascination with the gods. Though not a devout worshipper, she would study the various faiths, and was particularly interested in their actions around the time of the Great Sundering. It was during this time that she began to hear whispers from the deep.
Finding the whispers clearer the closer she moved to the ocean, Zapharia eventually relocated to the Sunken Collective, where she was finally able to connect, recognising the voice to be that of Aecor. Bestowing his gifts upon her, she began to mete out what she saw as Aecor's justice around the Collective, eventually settling in Coral Harbour and offering her gifts to Captain Mogarath of the Tidewatch.
While a less conventional spellcaster than typically found in city watch organisations, Zapharia has a strong moral compass, and is a valued member of the Tidewatch. With the striking clash of her red skin against the dark blue and gold of the Tidewatch uniform, she is widely recognised by the citizens of Coral Harbour, and seen as a comforting presence.
Being in the watch of a major coastal location, she sees her work as contributing to the safety and sovereignty of Aecor's oceans - an opinion seemingly shared by her patron, based on her continued receipt of her powers.
