Alathar Casper
The Champion
Alathar Casper was the firstborn of the Casper family and twin to Elincia Casper, as well as the second member of the Slicers. Alathar grew up with an intense rivalry towards Black Dawn member Avaahn Casper, a feud which would ultimately lead to his death in 575 AP.

Alathar was in peak physical condition before his death, going against the traditional lean elven and half-elven body type, working into a heavyset, muscular form.

Alathar Casper was the firstborn to Aldrin and Alaina Casper, born minutes before his fraternal twin sister Elincia. For the first year of his life, he was given every ounce of his parents' love towards a son, until the thirdborn came around.
Throughout their childhood, Alathar grew to despise Avaahn, his younger brother by just over a year. Alathar was strong, silent, tough, and dominant. He kept to himself, never the source of much trouble in his youth. Avaahn, however, grew up very talkative, charismatic, and arrogant; traits that his parents actually found very desirable as members of the pretentious Elarian upper class. Avaahn also grew to have a knack for stealth and archery in his teenage years, traits of which Alaina, their mother, possessed during her time as an assassin. Based on shared interests, Alaina naturally gravitated towards Avaahn. Aldrin was often busy with political work to build a really strong relationship with any of his children.
While growing up, Alathar always felt like he lived in the shadow of Avaahn. This envy grew into a deep rivalry and hatred between the siblings, as both of them were very competitive as well. Despite his parents' favoritism, Avaahn could never defeat Alathar in combat.
Much unlike his relationship with Avaahn, Alathar was very close to his twin sister. The two likely had the strongest relationship between any of the siblings (seconded only by Avaahn and Evaahn). Alathar and Elincia would work together on hired fighting work for many years, until Alathar was recruited into the Slicers. Alathar's new job marked the end of Alathar and Elincia running jobs together.
As the second member of the Slicers, he was the second most respected. Known as the Champion, Alathar was the team's primary frontliner and combatant, side by side with Arkaeus Boulderstrike. Secretly, Alathar deeply hated that he was not the leader of this group, harkening back to his jealousy of Avaahn.
Alathar's career as a Slicer came about around the same time as Avaahn's career in assassination, both of them growing in notoriety at the same time. At the time, no one in Alathar's family knew of his true career, except for Elincia. Years later, when Avaahn started to run jobs as a Misfits of Valland, Alathar was enraged that his parents still unquestioningly loved Avaahn, even when he was a nationally renowned criminal. When Alathar and the rest of the Slicers received the order to hunt and kill the Black Dawn, everything changed.
Alathar turned into a violent and vengeful monster, hell-bent on finding Avaahn and finally putting and end to his crimes. He didn't answer his family's messages, wasn't seen by anyone, and didn't sleep much for days. Even Elincia, his trusted twin, didn't like the person he was becoming. Days before their hit, Elincia warned Avaahn of Alathar's current state.
In the Slicers' hit on the Black Dawn, they decimated the group of criminals. But, much to Alathar's rage, Avaahn narrowly escaped his wrath. That night, he realized Avaahn couldn't be found in hiding; he had to be forced out.
Alathar created the plan to magically capture Evaahn Casper, his younger sister but Avaahn's closest relationship, as a hostage to force Avaahn to come to him rather than to try to track him down himself. He barely convinced Elincia to help him on his crazed plan, Elincia simply hoping that it would bring an end to their squabble with Avaahn in prison.
On the Black Dawn's final elimination mission, Alathar invited Avaahn to Casper Manor, their childhood home. They fought tooth and nail in the courtyard, Alathar revealing Evaahn captured in a magical crystal halfway through the fight. Avaahn was narrowly able to finally defeat Alathar in combat, deciding to spare his life. Avaahn's fellow criminals had other intentions, as Tarik Gamathanki and Daedalus proceeded to murder Alathar against Avaahn's wishes, splintering the group, and Avaahn's family, into pieces.
