Hekalu
The capitol city of Ibada and the home of the royal palace and family. A bustling heavily populated kingdom build against the base of the colossal Consetta Mountains. A place that holds almost any need or want one would require. While culturally and racially the kingdom remains open and welcome, it is heavily segregated by wealth. There are three stone walls that arch out from the base of the mountain and are what divide the citizens of the kingdom into classes. The outer ring protects the peasants and farmers from outside forces and is the thickest wall of the three. This wall has barracks attached throughout its length. The inner ring divides the merchant and labor classes from the peasants, and the inner ring divides the king and wealthy elite from the merchant and labor class. Though these walls divide the citizens, passage between the rings isn't very limiting except with the inner ring.
The outermost ring contains the majority of the farmland that supports the kingdom. It holds the second-highest population of people within the city but very few roads lead to select locations. The land is mostly worked by indentured servants, condemned workers, and commuters from the middle ring. Wealthy landowners hold about sixty percent while the rest is divided between peasant families. On the peasant's side is a forested landscape with patches cut out for farming. The houses are generally made from mud or wood and each family maintains its own food supply. They mostly trade among themselves for what they need, but many do take caravans or walk to the middle wall to sell or trade their goods. Over on the landowners' side are neatly maintained crops of land each containing a different harvest. Scattered sparingly throughout are large stone buildings that are mostly for the workers.
The center ring is dominated by the merchant class. This ring contains the highest of the population of the kingdom divided between the merchant and labor classes. It contains dense residential areas that flow alongside business districts. Tradesmen whose professions require space or smell tolerance are at the borders of each district while the shops, bars and inns are packed together as you head further in. Though various trees and shrubbery can be seen throughout, there are far fewer open fields or areas that aren't heavily trafficked by citizens of Alderon. Stone-paved roads in checkered patterns neatly divide houses and businesses while allowing carriages and carts easy access throughout the area.
The innermost ring is home to only the most wealthy and elite with the royal family and Ebony Fortress residing at the very heart. At the entrance to the inner ring stretching across a large length of the wall is a densely packed forest with stone roads leading through. Past the forest is the kingdom's second farmlands that are worked to feed the royal family and wealthy elite. Further in is the market district of the inner circle. The most successful and wealthy merchants set up lavish shops where they display their finest goods and cater to the tastes of the richest clientele. After that come the castles of the of the wealthy elite then finally Ebony Fortress.
Demographics
Alderon has the most varied demographic in all of Alderia. While the Dula humans have the highest population you would be hard-pressed to go a day and not find most of the common species of the continent. Alder humans have the second-highest population followed by Blanche humans. When it comes to other species Cat folk and halflings are about equal, both immigrating originally to take advantage of Alderon's open market trading. Today both species hold prominent places on the Alderon council. Dwarves are the next highest with the majority of them living in a collective area of Alderon's inner circle. The dwarves have the best blacksmith guild in the empire and ever since one of their own was selected to work in the Ebony Fortress they have been given the more lucrative shipping orders.
Government
Alderia is a Merchantocracy (corpocracy). No other place displays this more than Alderon. While each duke or baron might have their own local laws, those laws can not contradict or supersede the laws made in Alderon. While the King is the one who drafts Alderian laws he keeps a grand council of the wealthiest merchants of Alderon who have influence in his decisions.
Industry & Trade
Mithral and Iron from the Consetta Mountains along with Ebony are Alderon's largest and most lucrative exports. All three of which are controlled by the king.
