Faewater Lake
Geography
Lake Faewater vaguely takes the shape of the faerie. The "wings" make up the bulk of the lake, shape as a filled in "D", with the rounded perimeter of the lake stretching northward, and the flat is parallel to the body. The "body" is a long strip of water that forms vertically (on a map) from north to south. On the southern side, the lake slightly bends southwestward in a hook, and this part of the lake is colloquially called the "legs". It is believed that the two parts of the lake were once separate many centuries ago, but have since joined together as water level increased, or erosion of the land dividing them took its course. Nestled between the "wings" and "body" on the southern side of the lake, is a slope that rises up into a cliff-face, and this strip of land is the location upon which the city of Lakemouth was built.
Near the Lakemouth peninsula in the waters of the wings of the lake is a small island, which is called the Feycross Isle. On the island is a portal to the Feywilds, which is open on the day of the summer solstice. The area around this island takes on a more fantastical shape, with rocks of crystal, clear waters that glitter in the moonlight, trees with leaves of silver and gold or sap of ruby and sapphire.
Two major rivers flow into the lake: the Lanbelt River and Friþ River. The Lanbelt flows in from the west, emptying out into the southern part of the wings of the lake. The Friþ River joins into the northernmost point of the "body". Another river, the Sæweg flows out from the lake, running southward though the [Iron Hills] and to the coast of the Carnnui Ocean.
