Tharchion

A tharchion is a civil ruler of one of Thay's eleven tharchs, the Thayan word for state. Tharchions had the power to muster private armies and were given a good degree of leeway on governing their tharchs.

Tharchions are appointed by the zulkirs, the governing body appointed by and overseen by Szass Tam.
