Three Vegan Colonial Union member worlds formed the Cordini Axis initially for mutual assistance in internecine trade and ideological strife within the Union. (See also Cordini Rebellion)

    Internecine Strife in the Vegan Colonial Union

    Amadioha brings a case to the Union's Judicar Chamber claiming that Pluellar Capital of Tind and Mosjeen ArcoTech of Wrence colluded to defraud the Amadioha Colonial Administration, that Mosjeen had engaged in felonious negligence in using inferior materials and incorrect specifications that had resulted in the collapse of three major arcology nodes and the death of more than 940 citizens, and enormous costs to mitigate and replace. They also bring a motion to the VCU Table to censure both member colonies for breach of the "good faith in dealing" clause of the Framework.

    Shipping disputes between Amadioha and Tind
    Military action

    Amadioha deploys a squadron of destroyers purchased from Skalnaté and begins harrassing Tind commercial shipping between Graiorn and the Audette Nexus. Tind convoy directors hire Wrence-based Ponal Security to provide armed convoy guard ships and the engagements escalate, with Amadioha initially losing a destroyer, but retaliating on two subsequent convoys, causing loss of life and destruction of both security and cargo carriers.

    Tind and Wrence complain to the Table that Nouveau Picard is 'aiding and abetting' the 'lawless' Amadhi squadron. Amadioha claims Ponal ships fired first and they were acting defensively.

    The Alamak Incident
    Military: Skirmish

    Ships from an Alamak system defense squadron "accidentally" fire on three Amadhi cargo carriers transiting to Vega. One ship is severely damaged and six crew killed. The VCU Table exacts an indemnity from Alamak to Amadioha, but the amount is far below standard indemnities. It is regarded as a further insult by the Cordini worlds. Amadioha instantly brings an appeal to the Judicar Chamber, which proceeds to sit on it.

    The Alamak Decision
    Civil action

    The Judicar Chamber, having sat on the case for nearly two years, finally returns a Finding that Alamak's actions were "non-hostile" and the Table's indemnity award will stand as given. When Alamak sends the indemnity on a diplomatic courier ship, Amadioha sends a low-level bureacrat to receive the code chip and makes the Almak delegation wait while the chip is validated in the financial network, a deadly insult to the Almaki.

    "Amici Cordini" negotiations begin
    Diplomatic action

    Finding that they have considerable common ground the Delegates from Amadioha, Phlegesto, and Nouveau Picard initiate conversation about potential mutual aid agreements. As inter-member agreements are not recognized under the VCU Framework, they refer more extensive discussions to their colonial administrations, and private talks begin, culminating in both a mutual assistance agreement and a program to collaborate on building, and share access to, "armed commercial trade" ships that resemble heavy destroyers.

    Vegan Colonial Union trade agreement with Tellurian Federation
    Financial Event

    VCU signs a trade agreement with Tellurian Federation for "most favored" status for extraction products from Farseille and New Canada, reducing Amadhi extraction revnues and disadvantaging both Amadioha and Phlegesto extraction industries. The Table Moderator did not deny this action was partially in the nature of a sanction against the "troublemakers."

    Cordini Declaration

    At the opening of the Table Session, Amadioha, Nouveau Picard, and Phlegesto present the Cordini Declaration to the Table, announcing the existence of the Cordini Axis, repudiating their Union membership and withdrawing their Delegations from the Table.

    The Union Table unanimously votes to declare the three colonies in a state of rebellion, enacts an array of economic sanctions, and votes an allocation to increase military resources production.

    VCU attempts to blockade the Audette Nexus; the newly-formed Axis brings their own fleet and mercenaries/allied forces from Nenque and New Athens to the fight. The blockade is broken in a pitched a battle that destroys several ships for each side.

    VCU sends a punitive fleet against Phlegesto but the Battle of Bridgenode ends inconclusively, costing both the Union and the Axis and its Nenque Alliance allies capital ships.

    VCU Case to Interstellar Clearinghouse Academy
    Diplomatic action

    The Vegan Colonial Union formally brings a Deliberative Case to the Interstellar Clearinghouse Academy, supported by the Tellurian Federation, alleging the Nenque Alliance is engaging in "hostile interference" in the affairs of another polity.

    After much deliberation the Academy refuses to sanction the Nenque Alliance as the status of the Cordini Axis worlds are not currently members of the Vegan Colonial Union, although the Academy has not recognized the Cordini Axis as an entity-in-being.

    The Tellurian Incident
    Military: Skirmish

    A Tellurian Federation convoy bound for Tind is refused resupply at Nouveau Picard. There is no conclusive evidence as to whether TF Naval ships or Axis ships initiate the exchange of fire, but no ships are lost and the Tellurian convoy resupplies at Shui Han.

    The Tellurian Federation subsequently assists VCU forces in planning an invasion/occupation of Amadioha, which the Union regards as the "ringleader" in the Rebellion.

    Battle of Amadioha
    Military: Battle

    A pitched battle at Amadioha between VCU/Federation forces and the Axis and their Nenque Alliance allies is underway when a klavangi r'ill astrilla downshifts into the fire zone and takes damage, causing the Ihren to file a protest with the College of the Pleiades.

    Cordini Axis repudiates allies
    Diplomatic action

    Since signing a trade treaty with the Emyrillian League and beginning regular trade with Yodlo and Prodlo in 2668, relations between the Axis and their increasingly Humans First-oriented Nenque Alliance allies deteriorated rapidly.

    In the wake of the 2670 ambush of an Emyrilli trade convoy by Skalnaté-funded privateers, the Axis formally repudiates all status of alliance with all Nenque Alliance member worlds.

    College of the Pleiades Arbitration
    Diplomatic action

    After the Battle of Amadioha, the College of the Pleiades, acting on the Iehren's complaint, agreed to arbitrate. They formally requested all the concerned parties to assent to the Arbitration and upon collection of assents from the Axis, the Union, and the Tellurian Federation (the Nenque Alliance did not respond), they opened a Discourse.

    The Discourse reached its Thesis in 2673, in the form of the Tangrish Agreement. The signing of the Agreement by the Tellurian Federation, the Axis worlds, and the Vegan Colonial Union officially brought armed hostilities in the matter of the Cordini Rebellion to an end. The end of hostilities provided the Interstellar Clearinghouse Academy with the justification needed for recognizing the Cordini Axis as an Entity-in-Being.

    Cordini Axis Recognized by the Alliance of Vegan Republics
    Diplomatic action

    Although it had signed the Tangrish Agreement, the Vegan Colonial Union declined to officially recognize the Cordini Axis. This was rectified fourteen years later after the reworking of the VCU Framework and its reconstitution as the Alliance of Vegan Republics. In 2687 formal recognition was officially accorded to the Cordini Axis by the AVR Steering Committee, and diplomatic relations were established between the two entities, bringing a final and official end to the Rebellion.
