Dwarf

Hill Dwarves

The Hill Dwarves and Mountain Dwarves are often intermingled with any non-dwarf unable to tell the difference.   The Hill Dwarves, also known as Gold Dwarves, are often found in coastal areas and low lands but are not uncommon in the mountains. There were many Hill Dwarf settlements within the Exalos Dynasty, many still exist today.   Hill Dwarves can also be found on ships and islands, something that is not often found with their Mountain Dwarf cousins.

Mountain Dwarves

The Hill Dwarves and Mountain Dwarves are often intermingled with any non-dwarf unable to tell the difference.   Mountain Dwarves are also known as Shield Dwarves. Being slightly more hardy and stronger than their Hill Dwarf counsins (but don't tell the Hill Dwarves this!) the Mountains Dwarves can be found high in the mountains, deep within mines, or far north in the frozen lands.   There are myths of missing Mountain Dwarf fortresses within large mountain ranges.

Grey Dwarves

Grey Dwarves, also known are Duergar, are known to exist in the Underdark. There have been sevaral sightings of them in the lower mines of Bhur Kohldur, and they have been aggressive every time. Fortunately the Duergar are unaware of the surface Dwarves' exsistance, otherwise perhaps a larger scale fight may occur.   It is unknown how many Duergar exist, but with the number of sightings made their population must be large enough to fill a small town.

Ancient Dwarves

The Ancient Dwarves were the first type of Dwarf known in The Tempest Realm. Compared to the modern sub-races of Dwarf, they were taller, had pale skin, and some were even beardless!   The Ancient Dwarves disappeared by the end of the Dawn Times and are now considered extinct.
