Werebear

They are were animals, and as such they have a natural ability to shape shift between a humanoid form with some animal features, and a fully animal form.

Anatomy

Werebears have the ears and tail of a bear, even in humanoid form.

Biological Traits

Hair Hair comes in various shades of black, grey and brown. In some rare cases white. The hair is usually very thick, with a coarse texture. Both men and women tend to be quite hirsute.
Eyes Colours vary from light brown, almost golden, to dark brown, almost black. Regular size iris, round pupil.
Ears Rounded, bear like ears placed high up on the sides of the head. The ears are covered in fur of the same colour as the hair, or maybe slightly darker/lighter.
Other physical attributes Big canine teeth and thick, sturdy nails. Small tails, 10-20cm long.

Beauty Ideals

Many werebears find physical strength attractive.
Being on the fatter side used to be a sign of wealth and well-being in past, and some of that still remains in the modern idea of beauty standard.

Taking care of children used to be seen as a woman's job, but over the past few decades, it has started evening out to be more equal between men and women.

Common Dress Code

A traditional werebear folk dress is of a rather simple cut, but often very intricately decorated with embroidery and woven ribbons. Women wear skirts and bodice, and men vests and knee length pants. Both wear colourful stockings and a small belt pouch, woven and embroidered differently depending on where they are from.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Animal form Staying in animal form for stretches of time is seen as completely normal, and playing or exercising in animal form is encouraged.
Family Unlike most other were-animals, werebears don't put too much weight in family relations, outside of the immediate family (parents and child, or siblings).

Werebears have stayed rather isolated from other were animals, and their relation to the other races is a neutral one.

Average Height

Women: 180-200cm in humanoid form, 80-110cm at the shoulders in animal form. Men: 185-205cm in humanoid form, 90-120cm at the shoulders in animal form.

Average Physique

Most werebears have a stout body build. Being fat is common.
The animal form mostly resembles a brown bear.
