Barton Homestead
Barley Acres is a farmhouse owned by Clint Barton in Missouri, although since his and Laura Barton's separation, he no longer lives there full time.
The residence is very remote, located three hour's drive from the nearest small town. It is entirely off the grid, relying on solar power, rain water, and groundsource heat pumps.
The property was set up by S.H.I.E.L.D., as protection for his wife was Barton's condition for joining S.H.I.E.L.D. The property purchase was arranged through a number of shell corporations to ensure its true ownership remained hidden. To date, this has been succesful, and Laura has been able to raise her children without fear of Barton or S.H.I.E.L.D's enemies.
As well as the house, there are also a few acres of land which Laura runs as a smallholding in order to supplement her income.
