Due to his strategic mind, he was often considered the most dangerous of the Black Order.

As a Whisperer, Ebony Maw possessed supernatural persuasive abilities. He was able to impose his will on others by talking to them, using a form of write-only telepathy. He also had the ability to appear to those under his control as an illusion visible only to them, though it is unclear if this was something he could do at will, or only an echo of the original mental control.
He also possed Telekinesis.
