Hammer Industries

Hammer Industries was an American defense manufacturing company. It was founded in 1996 by Justin Hammer.

The company produced primarily firearms, but also produced body armour and short-range missiles. In 2002, the company attempted to diversify into vehical manufacturing, producing the Hammerhead, an armoured all-terrain vehical. However, the Hammerhead was notoriously unreliable, especially in desert conditions, and their automotive department was closed in 2005.

They are best remembered today for the events of the 2010 Stark Expo, when Justin Hammer used prototype combat robots, the Hammer Drones, and a suit of Powered Armour modelled on the War Machine Armour to try to kill James "Rhodey" Rhodes.

As a result of his actions, Justin Hammer was taken into custody, and charged with attempted murder. Although he was replaced as CEO of the company, the damage to Hammer Industries' reputation was severe, and the firm filed for bankruptcy in 2012.
