As part of its mission, the highest priority was killing multiversal varients of Nathaniel Richards.
He Who Remains was eventually killed by Nathan Richards, one of his variants, as revenge for the suffering he inflicted on Nathan, and Michael Korvac accepted the role of agency leader, taking up residence in the Citadel at the End of Time.
