Bernard Silverhand II Grandpa
Once a cautious and callous man, the formidable Silverhand II known to all in Eitsa, a champion against the darkness, many think he fell in battle years ago. But his family knows the truth, he saw something that broke his spirit that he refuses to speak to this day. He has began to pass into the otherworld as elves do when they reach ancient ages, parts of his body have already begun to fade. Yet he remains, his force of will keeping him around. He often berates Bernard Silverhand III for being paranoid, saying "Your wisdom comes from the blackness of the soul, so blind are you that you refuse to see the white stars from the black void." His wife Evelyn Bearheart was slain by the Blackwing family.

As he refuses to see Bernard IV (pc) have his independence beat out of him by Silverhand III like he himself did to Silverhand III, and his father did to himself before.
Whenever he is around kids that is...when alone or with adults, his truth self shows. A sullen and desperate father who learned to late about the truth of the family, his time past so that he can do nothing more than try to guide them to success. He knows of the tragedy between Silverhand I and Blackwing I and how their names actually came to be, how they stole a part of each other and locked in a gem bound to their head of family magically. Unfortunately he is already passing and so can only muster enough strength to be a normal person, his ancient fighting ways can save someone ONCE, and then he will fade to the world beyond.
Silverhand II discovered long ago as a Paladin of the Allsworn that his ancestor stole part of the soul his ancestor's best childhood friend. He discovered this when he was sent as Commander Paladin to the Palace of Kva, the Soul-Dragon. He discovered how the dragon tricked them into becoming foes for all eternity and bound their spirits into each other magically. He tried to kill the dragon single handedly, but only resulted in his entire squad being annhilated around him as the dragon slew all but him, leaving him to torment. He went to Hall of the Allsworn to commandeer the temple to either bring the Allsworn down to Altova, or bring himself to the Allsworn. As he was activating the temple, he had barred the doors and went mad with grief, attacking any who tried to stop him, all while he heard Kva's laughter inside his head. The temple shook as the skies whirled in the sky, and people panicked in the streets fearing another Sky-Scarring was happening. Eventually, Greynic Golden Ivadi subdued him with magic and stopped the cataclysm, and told him that he still had a purpose foreseen by the gods here on Altova, and watch over Bernard IV. Whether truth or lie, Silverhand II does not know. But Greynic promised him that the public would think he died in the Palace of Kva rather than spoiler his honor.
