The Witch Problem
The team get to help out Archie defeat the direct threat to his Coven, and Magnar can possibly get a new sword.
Plot points/Scenes
The team get to plan what is next and they get the chance to get a hit at those who directly harmed the Covens related to Archi. They have the choice of going directly to south western Britain and go into Wessex even and Kill those that harmed them. The also have the chance to get to Wookey Hole where Archi & Arne get a new spell each. Also, Magnar can be forewarned that Lord Geoffrey has a weapon known as the Angelic Sword. It supposedly was made in the presence of the Archangel Michael.
If they travel as far as Wookey Hole from the Thames, they can bottle a single vial of the water there after talkiing to the spirits there. Archi can take a single sip of water to cure him of any ills, and the vial can be used to throw over Morwenna doing 3 [roll1d6] force damage and destroying her link to Lord Geoffrey while showing her for what she is.
Either way, they evenutally make their way to the border with the Celtic region in the southwest. There they can look around and find that Lord Geoffrey of Lambrookshire has recently been here and killed two full covens with his men. They are also told that when Morwenna is within 10 feet of him when he has his rosary on him (most of the time) she seems different, uglier wih a smell of rotting seaweed, and she can't seem to use magic. No-one else seems to be able to do this.
They are told that he has gone home to his castle / fort and resting there preparing for a banquet with other lesser nobles from the region. He is accepting guests of all right levels, and he is meant to have "entertainment".
They soon discover that this entertainment involves to mages fighting in a pit and any magic that just so happens to escape has the caster dragged out of the pit and slowly tortured to death in front of everyone. The team may want to use this to their advantage to get in. They may even try to say that force of arms is better to get someone like Magnar in.
Once in they can scobe the place out, make any notes, try to hide etc. Once set up & ready, they can then set about killing him off. They can do this at any time and they will find by killing him, they need to kill off Morwenna or she will immediately try to latch on to another local noble to keep up killing Witches Covens.
When they do this they may be attacked by any theigns / fydmen summoned. Once killed, the local militia will stop fighting long enough to show that Morwenna is a Sea Hag and they should go to another noble more worthy of their time & effort. Upon the body of Lord Geoffrey they will find his rosary with a permanent spell of Antimagic Cage, and the Angelic Sword.
If lucky enough or looked for they will find a small treasury of 1000 gold coins, 3 gold bars (worth 100 gold pieces each., 4 emeralds and 4 small ivory statues worth 75 gold each. Also present is a Ring of Strength, a Ring of Constitution, a Necklace of Feather Fall and a suit of Splint Mail (Armour of Fire Resistance). The reason there is more mundane treasure is that these are made from the remains of magic items that have been stripped of their magic.
Archi can go west at any tiem and speak to the remainder of his Coven (Braya and Tedha). he can get a bit of help from them and can bring them any of the magic or gold. There is the chance that a couple of other witches are being kept as prisoners and one of them might be able to team up with them permanently. This would take a bit of pressure of Archi, and he woulkd be viewed as a son of sorts that can still keep in contact with them as well.
