Era beginning/end

The end of the 2nd War of Maastricht, by the signing of the Articles of Commonwealth and the start of 350 years of peace between human empires.

It was in the year 2371 that the Articles of Commonwealth were signed, on the Planet of New Washington, between the Canadian Provinces, Hong Kong-in-Exile, Indian Protectorate, Ireland, Oceania Confederacy, South Africa, United States Aegis and the United Kingdom of Great Britain. The point of this treaty was to formally end the 2^nd War of Maastricht, which had started in 2332 as the United States and Pan-American Conglomerate's response to Britain's take over of the Sol System, in 2331, breaking the Treaty of Maastricht (2256).   In one final kick in the teeth, due to the negotiations taking nearly 5 years, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Oceania insisted that the Articles were signed on the 4th of July 2376.    The treaty as signed, laid out the roles and responsibilities of the Federal Commonwealth Government, and the reformulation of the Parliamentary houses, the house of Lords and Commons, as well as the borders of the Supersectors, the rights and privilages of the supersector, sector and subsector governments. Election rights and methods, term lengths and order of precedence were also organised by the treaty. With the signing of the Articles, the Aegis was officially part of the Commonwealth, restoring America to British rule after 585 years of Independence.
