Military actionAs the Commonwealth spread out Rimward, they ran headlong into the spacefaring race named the Furies, so named for their appearance looking like the mythological creatures. First Contact did not go well and the Furies destroyed the exploration squadron that found them, leading to retaliation by the Commonwealth, which lead to 90 years of on and off war as the Commonwealth and Furies traded colony systems.

Military actionThe Battle of The Great Barrier Planets was the opening salvo in the Tarquin War. 2000 heavily armed, Tarquin Migration ships and their escorts, burst through the barrier, having made the trip across the interspiral space from their home arm. The planets stood little chance against such a fleet, the first of many, and with their position so far away from any other known threats the closest fleet was several weeks away.

The Indian War of Independence
RevolutionThe Indian War of Independence of 2968, was the first full scale rebellion of the 500 year old Commonwealth. It was sparked by the death of the Supersector President, Guptha Jamil. Fed by agitators in the Indian Regiments who felt the Tarquin were a too big a threat to India to allow the Commonwealth to deal with any longer. The death of the President removed the last voice in power that was respected by the army, leading to a military coup. The Mutiny ended when the Leader of the Coup Sunil Sethi was assassinated by members of the 22nd Herefordshire Regiment under the control of the 12th CAA.
