Council of Lawkeepers

The Council of Lawkeepers is a secretive organization within The Versian Binderate that is said to gather a single chosen member from each of the recognized "families" within The Bound Borders, whether that 'family' is a planet, city, large tribe, or family of great honor. They are said to gather once The Law has perished in order to appoint the next Law. The rumors are that they also gather once every decade during the reign of a Law to determine a future candidate, update their lists of potential candidates, and review their previously chosen successor. The identities of all members of the Council are kept a secret of the highest order to protect themselves and their families from potential manipulation or retribution.
