Scales of Duty

The Scales of Duty are large, golden physical scales that serve as an immediate recognition of The Law of The Versian Binderate. They are often held by the The Law while they are performing their official duties, presiding over cases, and making the infallible judgements for the government.
The handle is rumored to have been encoded to the current Law's DNA and is said to have spikes, electricity, or other traps that would damage the hand of anyone unsanctioned who attempted to grasp it. The bottom of the scales is engraved with the official seal of the office of The Law.
The Scales are granted to their current wielder upon appointment to their new position by the Council of Lawkeepers.
