One of the two original founders of the The Kerek League, Niala Nor is celebrated as a hero of Kerekos and one of the All Light's Chosen.

Accomplishments

Though attributed with founding the Kerek League, Niala Nor is most famous for discovering how to use crysalline to store Vein Operation Current and use it to create and power voidships. This discovery was only possible with the help of her partner Xandr Javis, and led to Kerekos' Golden Age of advancement. Four holidays are dedicated to Niala and Xandr, and Niala has two statues representing her: one next to Xandr Javis' in the League's pavilion in Zaigon, and one at the research center where she and Xandr made their great discovery.

History

Niala grew up on the eastern coast of Kerekos, far away from the warlords' heavy fighting. Though born a simple fisher's daughter, she showed great promise and aptitude for advanced thinking. Coupled with a curiosity about the Vein and where its rivers led through the Vast, she found work at a research facility to study it full-time. Her supervisors didn't think much of her dreams of exploring the void, but she was a studious worker.
Everything changed when Xandr Javis showed up at their doorstep. Devastated by the loss of his family, he gave Niala her first true look at the consequences of war. She nursed him back to health and taught him about the Vein, sharing her dreams of using its energy for exploration. Grateful for her aid and friendship, Xandr gave her a crysalline pendant. One day while collecting water from the Vein, Niala got some on her pendant and discovered that the crysalline not only absorbed the water's energy, but appeared to store it. Ecstatic, Niala showed Xandr her discovery, and they began focusing on how to harnass it. Their discussions led to plans for a new type of vessel, one which could sail the Vein's waters. Niala wanted to use it to leave Kerekos, but Xandr convinced her to help him stop the warlords and free Kerekos from its endless conflict. Together with the other researchers, they built the first voidship, the Light of Kerekos and began the Light Crusade.
After the crusade, Niala was devastated by the destruction her discoveries had caused, even in pursuit of a noble cause. She was even more devastated by the League's treatment of the Lightless and refused to join Xandr's League unless they were given amnesty. When he and the others of the League refused, she built a new voidship and departed the shores of Kerekos, disappearing into the Void. No one knows what became of her or her ship.
Before leaving Zaigon, Vandr had a memorial built in her honor. It bears the inscription "For dreams near and far we fly."
