In the village of Sylscha, a refugee, Lili, later called Dreamhand Lili, receives a vision in which the spirits of the dead, those that were killed during the orcish raids in the Zwatsdt Heights, visit her, demanding that their names not be forgotten. Thus begins the Welgryf Sagas, a large archive setting out to list every person who has ever died, ideally with details about their death included. The process of creating and maintaining this catalog results in the foundation of The Collectors.
