The Byrgilfin use the place as a mooring when making longer range raids along the coast. They keep a stash of supplies there, even when not present.
The Throat-Slit Outlaws see the Byrgilfin stopping there. They think there is probably something worth taking but they don't have access to sea-worthy vessels.
