Across the Emerald Valley Report

General Summary

The party starts off by describing their characters' physical features so Ashi has an easier time picturing them. Bilge drops off his rusty dagger at Bujad Nurzag to hopefully fix his dagger. The party heads over to the Far Chair Inn to speak with Farin Dorrie. They notice that the sign for the Fart Chair Inn has been repainted to its original name of the Far Chair Inn. As they enter the inn, they notice a figure sitting at the bar speaking with Farin. Originally they thought this figure was Light but as they got closer, they realized it was Mozi. She explains that Lliira raised her from the dead to have a death worth celebrating. Lliira moved her to a group of her followers nearby for her safety. She then disguised herself as Light, an old friend.  *The party proceeds to spend roughly 45 minutes talking about the various crimes they've committed from piracy to straight-up murder of a king. They also try to rank each other on who's the less evil. Ashi and Flimp are very concerned that someone could be hunting Mozi since she murdered a king. She assures them that they are probably safe. Probably.* They buy horses from Triss. Mozi buys a warhorse, Bilge buys a racing horse, and Flimp buys Gerald for Bujad. The party moves on to Bujad's shop and buy armor for their horses. They also give him an extraordinary amount of gold to finance his shop. He asks them to stop giving him gold out in the open so he doesn't get robbed. They move on to Logan's shop. Logan Freefellow moved on but will be back in roughly four weeks with more items from the easternlands, in his place he left Tyrus a drow who will be buying and selling to the group. Flimp buys a chime of opening from him as well as several healing potions. Geared up, the party leaves to explore hexes 10,4 and 10,3. In hex 11,5, the party comes across a call for help while on the road. They come across a well-dressed bugbear pinned under a downed tree. Ashi examines the tree while the rest free the bugbear from the downed tree. Ashi finds acid damage and realizes this was from a black dragon. The bugbear, Julianos, agrees with this statement. He was studying the creature when it discovered him and chased him away from its lair. The party convinces him to go back to Riverrun and collaborate with Farin who has a monster journal. He says he will make his way there. The party continues on their journey. The party makes camp for the night and during Mozi's watch, a man walks up to the camp. He claims this land is his and the party must pay a tax to travel through it. Mozi pays a gold piece for each party member. The man, Viper, claims there are several other taxes they must pay as well. Mozi wakes up the rest of the party and nearly gets hit by a cross-bolt from Viper's unseen compliance. The party successfully intimidates Viper into leaving with the coin he already has. Bilge pays him an extra 20 gold to ask if he lives nearby. The rest of the night goes by with nothing happening. The party enters 10,4 aka the Emerald Valley. The entrance to the valley is covered in signs written in multiple languages telling travelers to respect nature. The party searches the area of the entrance and comes across the guardians of the Emerald Valley, the Wood Woads. The party doesn't understand their language and through some awkward exchanges, they peacefully enter the valley. Ashi gives them some dirt from her home village. The wood woads freak out and as payment, they give her a seedling. Bilge tries to mimic the phrase the wood woads said as a goodbye but butchers it and insults them. They slap him and he wants to make amends. There are shrines to the wood woads all over the Emerald Valley. Bilge attempts to pray at one to gain their respect and forgiveness. He trades the bone dice from Flimp and gives them as an offering. The rest of the party finds an owlbear resting on the path, blocking them off. Mozi looks around and finds a wood woad planting seeds. Through some charades, Mozi gets a very angry wood woad to help them. Flimp decides to throw his herbalism kit at the wood woad which pisses him off even more. Ashi helps calm the situation. The wood woad kicks the owl bear until it leaves the path. The party is under the impression that the wood woads control the flora and fauna in the valley. They decide to move onto the next hex 10,3. The party comes across an area of dead plants and get ambushed by four Green Nosalis. The wood woads come to the rescue and with a hail of arrows kill the nosalis. The party makes camp for the night.   Lot of stuff outside the game happened so this is the first two-part adventure.
