Gellid
Money will always be paper, but gold...will always...be gold! -Ancient ProverbFolksy, hard working, decadent, the Halflings have often been overlooked in the worlds of man. In the early days of the Third world these small agrarian communities were dismissed as harmless, or simply full of farmers and crafts people, or at most cunning thieves. But halfling ingenuity and cunning knows no such boundaries. The close knit, cunning, lucky, and ultimately shrewd species quickly rose among the ranks of merchants of the Third world to dominate the field. Their "Simple Agrarian Settlements" suddenly producing more claim to wealth than any other country in the world.

Outside of the market there are smaller local crafts-persons who offer more humble and close to home goods at prices that fluctuate wildly based on who is buying.
Districts
Old City
The original port town of Geld and the older halfling settlement of Gel this is the area where the majority of the city's permanent normal residents live. There are many halfling homes and apartments built to cater to medim sized creatures if barely.
Clifford
Clifford is located on the western cliffs of Gellid and is the original home of the large farming family that owned and ran the first farms that made up the settlement of Gel well before the settlement of Gellid. It is named after that family and still houses their estate. The district is still home to the Clifford family, who are without a doubt the wealthiest individuals in Gellid, and likely in the world.
The Shade
Located in the shadow of Temple hill, The Shade is the original home of the lowest working classes of Geld, now It is a reasonably priced residential district with many historic homes and old familys that are as tied to Gellid as the wealthy but who have always remained "in the shade"
Trades
The old industrial district and still home to many tradesmen the Trades district has very few homes but the finest smiths, carpenters, masons, tanners, coopers and other trades people. These are primarily their workshops and local showrooms as opposed to their shops in the Grand Market.
Westport

Cutpurse
One of the truisms of all merchants is that they often start as thieves. Cutpurse is the original low income area of Geld and now houses the Quiet Guild, the most organized and well run criminal enterprise in all of Erryt. Cutpurse is an open secret in Gellid and has a minister and a (t least one) seat on the guild council.
Springhill
Ah the good life, Springhill is the home of the land owners of old Gelid and has many of the traditional hallmarks of halfling society, small well cared for homes burrowed into the hill, large gardens, and lovely views. The Oldest and wealthiest familys still keep their holdings here, preferring to live frugally amid their comforts.
New City
Built after the rise of the trade guild and showing the true affluence of Gellid, these districts are built with Medium creatures in mind, creating buildings that are truly massive by comparison. Much of the city's wealthy (of which there are many) live in these districts.

The more modern port, Kingsport is a maritime marvel able to handle truly massive numbers of ships and goods. It
Oakwood

More proof that there's a punster in city hall. Not named for the large church in the district but instead for the labor unioin halls, Chapel Hill is where the Unions watch over the Merchant's guild. In a balance of Workers power versus the bosses might Chapel Hill is the reminder of who has lifted the city up.
Palace Hill
Home to the .001% Palace Hill also houses the private guard of the Merchant's guild. This is where many of the guild heads make their homes.
Special Districts
These Distrcits are specialized areas of the city that aren't administered to specifically by any given minister but by the guild as a whole.
The Grand Market
The Grand Market is the largest and most well stocked market in the world. Rising up from a manmade island you can find shops carrying anything you might want to buy. The market also has a central branch of the Dwarven Banking Union which manages all the currency passed in the market. Because of the massive number of trades carried out in the market patrons are required to register all funds at the central bank and it is held in trust as they shop. This allows the user not to overspend and guards against theft by ensuring that only those who can shop there do.
Beneath the shops and surface is also the Market Port. A sprawling series of loading docks and placed to moor the various silkships that travel beneath the waves. There is also a thriving tradesman's market here only accesible by those involved in the Whalespider Silk trade.

It acts as government hub, guild hall, and multinational neutral ground where anyone in good standing with the guild may conduct any number of diplomatic and business deals.
Skid Row
Not really a district, the Shantys that have cropped up behind the warehouses of Kindsport and the Arena are home to the roughest and most desperate members of Gellid society. They have not been destroyed because there is ALWAYS a market for desperate people willing to do anything for money. In Gellid they're found here.
