Background

Dream Magic is one of the four forms that magic, as it is understood by Nomads, can take. The Townsfolks, on the other hand, believe that magic outside of their religion, Religion of The Towns, is the work of The Forces and is fundamentally evil.
Of all the forms of magic, it is the one which is least understood and least well recorded. Indeed, some even question its existence.

Using Dream Magic

Dream Magic is the most misunderstood of the forms of magic and as such is the most difficult to define. A heks may cast using Dream Magic either in their sleep or in a meditative state (the latter of which is safer and easier to control).

For Seeing

A heks may use Dream Magic to see through another's eyes, experiencing things as another, either things which have happened or as they are happening. This is best performed in a meditative state and is the most common use of Dream Magic.
They may not change the things which they see, but they are instead an unseen passenger through another's existence.

For Knowing

A heks may also use Dream Magic to gather information. In the before times, this was thought to be a connection to the gods, but it is more commonly considered to be a way of searching their own subconscious (and on occassion the subconscious of willing participants). However, this does not explain how some have awoken with a certainty of what was yet to come, with no way of knowing it before.

For Creating

Those skilled heks who are creatively inclined have been known to use Dream Magic to craft and bring things into being through their dreams.
This form of manifestation is uncommon but very powerful, as they are not restrained by the real but can use a form of dream logic in the construction to form wild and wonderful creations.

Reputation

There are some who say that Dream Magic is simply a manifestation of the other forms and sources of magic, something which has been named as separate but is not, like naming a stretch of river - the same water flows through it so is it not the same?
Others say Dream Magic is an invention of the heks, a sign that one of these magic-weavers does not have full control of their skills or perhaps simply wants to return to sleep.
Those who know better understand that Dream Magic is the most powerful form of all.
