Watcher's Faithful

General

The Watcher's Faithful is an organised religion in the Stormlands. It is followed by the Tamedfolk of the Stormlands. The Faithful follow Toutorix's Chosen as their gods, and primarily worship Aias, the Soldier and Rán, the Mother of Storms as their patron deities. Their symbol is the Shield and Thunderbolt.

Religious Tenets

  • In the Watcher's name, protect you and yours from the dangers that lurk in the dark.
  • Pray to the Mother for subsitance, for she is the source of everything.
  • Be loyal to clan and kin. To betray your own is the greatest sin imaginable

Worship of Aias

Aias, the Soldier is known to the Stormlanders as the Watcher, the Ever Vigilant and the Protector. The Faithful live in a dangerous place, and they worship the god of protection to keep them safe from the perils of the Stormlands. Aias is also worshiped as a god of battle, who's martial tenents are stictly adhered to. The Faithful value loyalty between clansmen and soldiers highly.

Worship of Rán

Rán, the Mother of Storms is known as the Strombringer and the Mother. She is worshipped as a fertility goddess that feeds the Stormlands with her Storms. The Faithful revere her as an unstopable force of nature, bringer of change and seeder of life.

Organisation

The Watcher's Faithful are loosely organised, with the lands they tend divided into parishes. Each parish is lead by a priest, who tends to the religious needs of the flock. The leader of the Faithful is an Archbishop who resides in Dùn Mòr, the largest castle in the Stormlands. The Archbishop is the ulitmate religious authority among the Faithful. They are the keeper of the Watcher's Hyms, a book of stories about Aias and Rán that form the foundation of the Faith.
