Celestial Fae
Celestial and Seasonal Fae Differences:
Celestial Fae are different than the Seasonal Fae Courts because after The First Schism (where they split their land from the Material Plane and transported it into another dimension/plane where they now reside) they have had little contact with the other Fae or non-Fae humanoids. Most do not bother to care as much about what goes on in the Material Plane, and keep to their own court on this world's equivalent of the Celestial Plane. It is said that they spend much of their time partying or enjoying themselves with the God of Light, Amarus, who built a palace next to their floating court in the sky. This is only half-true, however, they are able to see the trickster god from time-to-time (though often in disguise). Their plane also has several gates to The World In-Between, so unlike Seasonal Fae, they have a better relationship and opinion of the god of Darkness & the Dead, Soren.
Their court is also different in the way that it is more like a combination of the Dawn and Night courts. They have been bonded for so long that they are now referred to as just the Celestial Court.
Celestial Fae love to wear thing decorated with gold, silver, and other jewels. Dawn court descendants sometimes wear golden armor like their ancestors, Night court descendants will sometimes wear dark colors of black, purple, and blue with stars and moons on them. Those who don't lean to either side wear a mix of each. However, there are still some divisions within the court for Dawn vs Night who believe that they should not be a single court. Currently, these groups are not a majority, but they have been gaining traction with some of the Fae who are old enough to remember a time before the they were one.
Physical Description:
While similar to humanoids in physical build, standing at around four to six feet tall, the Fae are blessed with unearthly grace and beauty. They weighing in at 150 to 210 pounds. Their bodies mature by the age of 20 while they continue to age mentally until they reach 100. While they remain in the Feywild, Fae are nearly immortal, seemingly capable of living as long as they are not mortally injured. Should a Fae choose to pass over to the Material Plane, they are granted 1000 years to live outside the Feywild before they perish if they do not return. The Fae can travel to and from the Feywilds. When they return, their ageing stops while in the Feywilds, but resumes once they leave again. Fae are adaptive creatures, taking on the best characteristics to fit their needs. As such, their appearance differs depending on the region they grew up in. This means skin color ranges. Their eye and hair colors can be almost any color known to humankind. Their ears are long and pointed, a feat that no doubt provides support during a hunt. Their canines sit in their mouths, elongated and razor sharp.
Celestial Fae are some of the only Fae to have wings. Due to their time on the celestial plane, they appear feathered. Their proximity to the gates of The World In-Between has also led to some relations with Tieflings, so horns and Tiefling-looking irises are not uncommon among them. When Celestial Fae have freckles, the spots look more like flecks of starlight than skin. Unlike all other races of Fae, they are the only Fae with feathered wings, and most often have the gift of flight, which not all Fae have. They are where the idea of angels came from.
The Celestial Court:
The Celestial Court is a place as rife with deception and darkness as it is beauty and light. The court prides itself on its magnificently constructed and decorated architecture, with gorgeous gold trim, wall carvings, ceiling paintings, and the newest Magitech of all kinds. It is common for Celestial Fae to learn of non-Fae with great talents in magitech, art, sculpture, music, etc and offer to bring them to the Celestial Court's plane to serve them. There are few who would deny such an offer, because the Celestial Fae award their artisans and Enhancers well. Some even marry their non-Fae artisans, although this is still looked down on by many of the elder Fae who are old enough to remember the reason the First Schism happened, and their past relationships with non-Fae.
Still, the younger Celestial Fae have no memories or connection to such past issues or wars with non-Fae despite their current relationship with the seasonal Fae courts, and find them fascinating.
The Celestial Court lands exist on a plane near The World In-Between (basically the Underworld), the plane of Dreams, and the palace of the God of Light, Amarus. They also worship the goddesses of Love and Tricks who created Spellbinders. Celestial Fae have a love of trickery, though not always in a mean-spirited away. Those who spend much of their time within the golden palaces floating among the clouds tend to love gossip.
