Personal history

Their followers think of them as a gallant, glorious, and wise god. Many of them purify their bodies and mind to suit their image of him in their minds. However, Amarus is actually quite the trickster who entertains himself by bothering Soren in the World In-Between whenever he's bored. After their rivalry during the ancient wars between the gods of Cegwen and the gods of Malborh ended, Amarus decided to stick their nose into Soren's business as much as they could. They think Soren has the most entertaining reactions. Amarus rules from a solid gold palace that he built in the Celestial Plane, which is very close to the Celestial Fae Court. He sometimes joins in with the Fae's festivities while in disguise whenever he feels like partying or drinking with others. In his disguised form, none of the Celestial Fae know who he really is except for a few friends he trusts the most.   Like the Celestial Fae, Amarus loves admiring beautiful works of art--especially sculptures. His palace is full of marble and gold statues he's had commissioned from famous mortal artisans over the millenia. Even his throne was hand-carved from jewel-encrusted gold. His followers usually offer him gold coins or other trinkets when praying to him, though Amarus is fine with just about anything as a tribute, even if all they can offer him are doing a good deed for another. He understands that not all mortals are well-off.   Although Amarus's almost obnoxious personality might make it seem otherwise, they do care very much about mortals and their world. They just have a habit of showing it in odd ways sometimes. They truly do take their responsibilities as a god very seriously, and in the past they were one of the most formidable warriors in the war between the gods. It was Amarus who struck Laius (God of Fathers & Soldiers) with their golden bow capable of "killing" gods, causing Laius to become an undead god that now serves Soren.   Amarus also has a strained relationship with the Goddess of Peace, Idona, who completely neglects her responsibilities to the Mortal Plane. The two haven't seen eye-to-eye in over 500 years. Amarus shuns her at any events where the gods meet in a neutral territory.   Like Soren, Aramus has multiple forms, they just prefer to stay humanoid when having conversations with non-gods. They think mortals will like them more that way.

    History

The two used to be immortal enemies who fought each other constantly. When the Primordials started a war against the gods, the two were forced to team up in order to defeat them. Afterwards, all of the gods decided it would be better to work together instead of constantly tearing everything apart.   Soren and Amarus eventually worked together to create mortal life known as Fae and Humanoids (any non-Fae). They both regard this as their greatest work.   After Grimshaw was created, Soren became more relaxed and strict. Amarus still pops in to annoy him often, but he honestly prefers this version of Soren over his old self.    Amarus gets in Soren's business and tries to be the center of attention. This is why he didn't tell him about the Crown of Truth mission.   Amarus has a slight jealousy over Soren's wife, but only because Soren sends him away whenever she appears.
