Cultural Influence
History
The crown was commissioned by Queen Elaina and was favored by her as well as her daughter,
Queen Matilda, and granddaughter
Queen Vivian. Since its creation, the crown has become a part of the queen's regalia, along with other crowns and jewelry that all serve the same purpose.
The Queens tend -or tended in the case of the former queens- to only wear the crown at celebrations and formal events where they were expected to wear regalia preferring not to wear it when not in public as the crown is quite heavy on the head and uncomfortable to wear for long periods.
Significance as a Crown Jewel
The crown, as the other crowns part of the queen's jewels, is used as a symbol of office and is used in the coronation of a new queen -if the queen has chosen this crown and not another.
Due to many recent queens having used this crown in their coronations and its distinct look, the crown has become one of the more famous crowns out of all the crowns in the royal regalia.
