Veden
"Veden is a powerful enemy. Sure their navy could easily decimate the combined naval might of all other nations combined, but what is more powerful is their position. They're protected by natural bottlenecks with the Spine mountains, and their banks and economic reserves are immense. We could win a land battle, that is certain, but that is assuming the Veden's allow us to get that far first."The government of Veden is organized into a hierarchy of numerous Dukes and Duchesses across the country. The current family in control of Veden is the House of Rnamdi, and the current head of that family is Archduchess Fen Rnamdi. Veden's public agenda is multifaceted, however the main focuses are Naval superiority, and banking. Within Veden houses a complex banking system which spans across the continent of Roshar, using numbers correlated to spheres and accounts within the federal reserve in Vedinar, the numbers are used as bartering pieces, which can be traded as many times as possible. This system of banking is slowly gaining ground as Roshar realizes the safety behind such a system. Vedinar is also well known for their ships, and being masterful at the art of Naval warfare. This does them little good in the modern era, as countries are connected by land. Veden's weak land army makes it difficult to win battles, even when they bombard the target city from their ships. Veden's greatest assets are The Veden Federal reserve (the biggest "bank" in Roshar) and their ships

Geography
Veden is located on the South Eastern edge of Roshar.
The country is semi-divided by a steep mountain range named "The Spine of Veden", but the greater majority of Veden's population lives east of the spine. It is called The Spine of Veden because the Alethi believe Veden's confidence in not being invaded despite directly opposing them is because the Spine in constantly snow capped and treacherous, meaning the Veden only have to put troops in one area, which gives them a spine to stand up to Alethi threats.
There are only two major cities within Veden, The capital of Vedinar, and Rekarna, the largest city on the western side of the Spine.
Fauna & Flora
Veden's flora and fauna are similar to the Alethi flora and fauna.
Natural Resources
All resources are run and regulated by the Veden state.
Veden History:
Veden pre-dates united Alethkar, and it is unknown how long ago Veden was formed, as the oldest writings originate from 50 EOS and by then Veden had already formed (though it's more modern inception as a archduchy wouldn't be formally created until 100 EOS). In 100 EOS, the kingdom of Veden was overthrown by the merchants and nobles, by a combination of a corrupt king, high taxes, and poor living conditions, the Kingdom was destroyed, and the King of Veden held under house arrest in a small estate in Vedinar until his death from disease in 112 EOS. The nobles and merchants divided the country in family run duchy's, and after a brief civil war, House Vafal became the first ruling house of Veden. Since then, the Archduchy has been run by the Dukes and Duchesses together as a sort of parliamentary council, with the Archduke or Duchess making policy. Since 100 EOS, Veden has remained independent from all invading forces, thanks heavily in part to Veden's spine, the mountains in the East which are almost impossible to traverse.
