Balghun
God of Contagion
Balghun had been the god of disease, of rotting and decaying things. He had envisioned a world where all is a festering pool of decaying flesh and plants. He had sided with the Forsaken during the war of the wayfarers, but not out of loyalty to them, more so out of a desire to stick it to the Velen, who had denied him his plans.Betrayal
during the war, there had been a lot of back and forth, and in one of these clashes, Balghun was betrayed by his allies, the Forsaken. It is unknown why they did this, as they needed all the help they could get, but it was actually the Forsaken who had scattered Balghun across the world. To Fester
After death, balghun started to decay, his essence slowly evaporating in the atmosphere. All those who came near this concentrated poisonous miasma died within days, and it was named the Contagion. The lands where he had struck the earth remained barren and infertile for decades after his remains were gone, and for millennia, it remained a place shunned by the people, covered in dark myth, and feared, simply for its history.Contagion
The contagion, his decaying essence, his energy, was transformed into a purple miasma that would drift across the world, infecting the ambient magical energies of living gods.Artifacts
Like all other gods, Balghun had left artifacts for the people of the world. These were the seed of decay, a small pea-sized seed, that, when planted, and neglected properly, will sprout into untold horrors, that are said to bring an end to the world. In reality, it is unknown what it does exactly, all that is known about it is that it is kept in the halls of Soreithra, where a permanent brazier keeps it from sprouting, and prevents it from being stolen.Ancient Magic
When Balghun had been alive, he had also had an ambient energy, it had been a bright radiant green, and it had been known as Corruption. This energy had been able to infect living tissue, causing it to become deformed, and decay over time, the better and more meticulously the spell, the less the target's immune system had been able to fight it. This could have been done on humans, animals, and all other living organisms.Status:
Deceased
