Allfather

Corelleon, the Allfather, is the protector of the seasons and the patron deity of beauty, art, and fey magic. In elven culture, the Allfather is considered their creator and prime deity, followed by the Wildemother, who helped nurture Rhan during its infancy. Many fey creatures also view the Allfather as their creator, especially since he rules over the realm of the Feywild, a mirror plane to the Material Plane.   Contents

Description

Appearance

Most depictions of Corelleon paint him as a highly attractive male elf, radiating divine grace and beauty. He is often depicted as standing in a vibrant garden, surrounded by golden-apple trees and small woodland critters, wearing only a leaf covering his groin. Certain statues also depict him with the lower body of an animal and the upper body of an elven man. This portrayal is more common among other fey creatures such as centaurs and satyrs.

Commandments of the Allfather

Commandments of the Allfather
  • Find beauty in all that you do, embrace your own existence while encouraging others to do so as well.
  • Seek out that which has been lost, whether it be magic or forgotten art, all remain precious in the eyes of the Allfather.
  • Above all, offer no mercy to the followers of the Darkmother.

History

The Age of Birth and the Heavenly War

While most of the gods during this age focused on the creation of the cosmos, its various planes and principles, the Allfather, alongside the Darkmother (who, at the time, had a different title), bore the first generation of elves, called the Eladari. In their image, their children would inherit Rhan, alongside the Stenklan, or dwarves, who had been hewn from the metals of the earth by the Eldersmith.   When the Heavenly War broke out, it was the Darkmother who sought to guide the elves into an era of supremacy over the other races. When the Allfather caught wind of this betrayal, he placed a curse on the Darkmother and all of her followers, forcing them to inhabit the Underdark of Rhan, preventing them from experiencing the beauty of nature and basking in the glory of the sun. Through this curse, the Allfather stripped these elves of their colorful hues and vibrant hair, instead forcing them to inherit skin as dark as the realm they now inhabit, and their hair pale as ash. This led to the first generations of drow, or dark elves, who are now the largest inhabitants of the Underdark.   Another ally of the Darkmother was Gruusch, the Bloodfather, who was once a servant of the Allfather. Seeing the power struggle between the gods, Gruusch saw an opportunity to gain power for himself and joined forces with the Darkmother, vowing to slay her former lover. According to myth, in a gruesome battle said to have lasted for centuries, the Allfather eventually emerged victorious by piercing one of Gruusch's eyes and severely wounding him. From the heavens of Rhan, the blood from the Bloodfather's eyes rained down and corrupted the water, mutating many elves. It is believed that those who drank from the corrupted water became the first orcs, goblins, and later hobgoblins of Rhan. While innocent, even after the battle, the elves who had been corrupted prayed for Corelleon to cure them but received no answer and thus turned their devotion towards Gruusch, who despite his injury had recieved a following of his own.

The Age of Arcanists

During the Age of Arcanists when the society of high elves ruled nearly all of Wildemyst, Correlleon alongside Magaia, Goddess of Magic and Arcana, were seen as the primary deities at the time. Through the Allfather, the elves had been granted life and purpose, and through Magaia, a natural affinity towards magic that gave them a natural edge over many of the other races at the time, at the expense taking longer to foster children.   Magic proved to be both the rise and downfall of elven civilization, as many began tinkering with cultivating powers beyond what could be offered by the Prime Deities. Some sought to challenge the authority of the gods themselves, which led to many seeking the aid of the Fallen Gods which later led to the Infernal Conquest, and the fall of elven society.

The Infernal Conquest

During the Infernal Conquest, the Allfather did not partake in the battles on the Material Plane; instead, he remained in the Feywild to protect it from the influence of the Fallen Gods. While many of the Prime Deities and their followers fought on Rhan, the Allfather had called home nearly all fey creatures and the race of wood elves to aid in the defense of the Feywild, as legions of drow and abominations of the Underdark had managed to infiltrate with the aid of the Darkmother.   Within the magical forests of the Feywild, the elves battled one another alongside creatures from both realms, their blood fusing with the ground and corrupting it, leading to the appearance of the first hags centuries later.   When the dust of the Infernal Conquest had settled, the Allfather began a mandate to root out the Darkmother's corruption from the Feywild, which forced many fey creatures and elves to migrate to the Material Plane, which would later become their permanent residence. The elven race of the Eladrin would take their place as defenders of the Feywild.

Artifacts

Staff of Father's Grace

The Staff of Father's Graces, also referred to as the "Allfather's Grace," is a staff hewn from the trees found in the Grove of Roses, the realm of the Allfather within the Feywild. The staff features intricate carvings along its length, with magical vines wrapped around it. At its crown, a single rose with shimmering arcane energy rests. When attuned to the staff, the wielder becomes immune to charm effects, cannot be magically put to sleep, and experiences an increased lifespan equivalent to that of elves. The staff can also be used to control the weather and influence nature to aid in combat, such as sprouting thorns from the ground or awakening a tree to serve you.

Places of worship and holy sites

Wildemyst

The Allfather is primarily worshiped among the various races of elves that inhabit the Material Plane, with his largest following residing in the elven city of Shecardim, south of Wildemyst. Many druidic circles, however, have also adopted a following to him, serving as guardians of nature in his name.
  • Chantry of the Divine: Despite being mostly an elven god, worship of the Allfather was approved shortly after the founding of the Rhanic Empire, as a means of ensuring the unity between the races of elves and humans. As such, the Allfather too has a shrine dedicated to him at the Chantry of the Divine, the largest temple in Evergrace dedicated to all the Prime Deities.
  • Ancestors Grove: At the heart of the elven capital of Shecardim lies the Ancestors Grove, a large garden dedicated to the Allfather and other elven-specific spirits. Many visit this sacred place for guidance and solace.

Feywild

The Feywild is the domain of fey creatures and the ancestral home of elves, and as such, the Allfather's presence within it remains strong. Through his will and teachings, the race of eladrin, elves attuned to the changing seasons, guard the Feywild from corruption with zealous vigilance.
  • Grove of Roses: Home of the Allfather himself, this tranquil garden of nature and ancient elven civilization serve as the most holy of sites for the race of elves.
