The
Fallen Gods were all the gods who, for one reason or another, chose not to side with the mortals they had helped create. Seeing themselves as superior and above all beings they believed that mortals were made to serve them, not to be nurtured by them. This caused a rift between the Fallen gods and their more good-alinged brethren, the Prime Deities, which eventually lead to all out war between the gods, the outcome of this battle had the Fallen Gods banished to the negative planes.

History
The Age of Birth
When the cosmos was still young, and the gods were all but wisps of energy floating through space, the Fallen Gods and the Prime Deities were one and the same. Together, they molded the universe and its many planes, as well as populated it with their creations, starting with the elves at the hands of the Allfather and the Darkmother, who bore different titles before the events of the Heavenly Wars.
When the power struggle between the gods grew, the Fallen Gods formed in an attempt to undo the universe and start over in an era where mortals would fear divinity rather than be cradled by it. This led to the Heavenly War between the gods, the cataclysmic war that led to the defeat and imprisonment of the many gods who had rebelled.
The Age of Arcanists
During the golden ages of elven society, magic practitioners were as common as farmers, cobblers, and merchants. In this period, the elven societies of Wildemyst would produce magical items born of both divine and neutral arcane energy. It was the allure of the Fallen Gods that led to the creation of necrotic arcane energy, the opposing force to divine energy, at the hands of talented wizards who succumbed to the dark powers promised to them. These items would often possess the ability to conjure undead, curse or enchant others, or even blight the world with terrible necrotic energy.
Since the Age of Arcanists, such magical items have been passed down from generation to generation, always finding their way into the hands of people who seek to corrupt or harm the mortal world. Though most of these items have been forgotten, every now and then, adventurers will manage to unearth these unholy relics, continuing their cycle of evil.
The Infernal Conquest
Sometime during 2000 BE, the height of elven society saw a near-immediate collapse at the hands of a covenant between cultists of the Bloodfather, the Dragon Empress, and the Infernal King. While the Fallen Gods are often selfish and rarely cooperate together, the combined forces of these three malevolent forces allowed the Fallen Gods to briefly enter the Material Plane alongside their hordes of demonic forces. This event was named the Infernal Conquest by the forces who opposed the Fallen Gods.
The evil horde made its foothold somewhere in the scorched mountains of the Longbow Mountains in southern Wildemyst. While the Fallen Gods managed to invade all the continents of Rhan, it was Wildemyst that suffered the most from the invasion. Among the various hordes of evil were the enslaved race of tieflings, the offspring of fiends and mortals, who served as the vanguard for the invasion against their will. Though some chose to obey their masters, many saw an opportunity to escape their life of slavery by joining forces with the mortals of Rhan, which angered the Fallen Gods greatly.
A battle between good and evil
Named the Prime Evils by their followers, the Bloodfather, Dragon Empress, and Infernal King swiftly managed to crush the elven societies of Rhan with the aid of their legions. This was largely due to a powerful artifact capable of locking the Prime Deities into their planes, preventing them from intervening. Thankfully, a group of brave adventurers sought out this artifact and managed to destroy it before too much of Wildemyst had been lost, allowing the Prime Deities and their celestial forces to join in the fight.
For decades, Rhan served as the battlefield between fiends and celestials alike, and by the end of the invasion, much of the Material Plane had been corrupted or otherwise destroyed by the fighting. At their last stand by the literal gates of the Unending Hells, the Fallen Gods made one final attempt at regaining a foothold on Rhan, but were pushed back into their respective planes once more by the combined forces of mortals and celestials.

Trivia
-
The Pantheon of Wildemyst is a mix between the Dawn War Deities, and inspiration taken from Norse mythology. The Fallen Gods are the evil-aligned deities of this pantheon.
-
Lesser deities who often ally themselves with the Fallen Gods, are sometimes called Fallen Gods themselves.
-
Unlike the Prime Deities who have established clergies and temples throughout Rhan, the cults of the Fallen Gods aren't as widespread. As such, they are more eager to have champions of their own to help them influence Rhan in a more direct way.
