The art of creation
Conjuration is the art of creating temporary matter with magic and is a common aspect of various magical elements.
The properties of this conjured matter vary per element, and they have multiple different properties, all of which vary greatly per element and spell.
Degeneration
The process of conjured matter evaporating into background mana is called degeneration, how and when this happens exactly depends on the element and situation, as well as the strength and attention of the caster.
Range
The range of conjured material means the distance from the caster it needs to be before it starts degenerating.
Materials with a low range will degenerate at much faster at a closer range, while longer-range matter will stay intact at further distances.
Weight
While it is in fact conjured magical matter, it does still have weight, which again, varies greatly. The effect that weight has on how the conjured material can be used is significant, as it influences the mage's ability to detect and keep track of their conjured objects, this is why very light conjured materials, such as flare, are so hard to control.
Cost
There are two costs of conjured matter, the cost of creation, and the cost of maintenance. The cost of creation decides how much mana is needed to conjure objects, and the maintenance cost decides how much mana is needed to keep it from degenerating. These two costs are independent of each other, and they can both be high, or either one can be high, but they usually aren't both low. It is also very rare for the maintenance cost to be much higher than the casting cost, although the opposite is quite common.
