The Eastern School
This mage academy is not the most famous of the world's three, but that's because it's hidden away in the corner of Yeno, on top of a mountain, adjacent to the city of Maizhou, which is also where it gets its name.
The city of Maizhou owes much of its success to the mages, as they practice their magic here, whenever they construct some great magical statue, it is donated to the city.
Besides that, and because of that, the city, and the school have become a great tourist attraction to the nobles of Yeno. Most nobles have a mansion here, and spend their winters in this city, buying Maizhous many exquisite fineries, which aren't really much better than in the rest of Yeno, but they look fancier because Maizhou is a fancy city.
The Mages
All Yenoees mages come to this school to learn magic, and there aren't a lot of mages who come here, that are not Yenoees. This is because this school is government-funded, and any Yenoees mage can apply to go here completely for free, as long as they either join the Yenoees army mage units. Or dedicate themselves to becoming a teacher at the school, once they have completed their education, and had a chance to practice magic for a few years.
This is also the reason why the Yenoees army employs so many mages.
Curriculum
Because the Yenoees put a special emphasis on water magic, water mages get special treatment at the school, basically they are immediately taught how to feel better than everyone else. They receive extra training, and the water magic courses are all the best.
However, all other mages are welcome here, and they teach extensive classes on all elements, including the second-stage ones.
They also put a special emphasis on combat magic, since the government's goal is that most mages will at some point join the army.
