The Seven Kingdoms of Northern Maraal
Just north of the Trollbone Mountains on the Broken Peninsula there is a cluster of small kingdoms that are somewhat united and act as a single entity. There are known by the rest of the world as the Seven Kingdoms of Northern Maraal. several hundred years ago the seven kingdoms were divided and often waged war against one another. One day a mysterious woman appeared seemingly out of nowhere and captured the hearts of all seven kings with her incredible beauty. Her arrival heralded an all-out war between all the kingdoms as their kings fought for the right to marry this woman. After two years of countless deaths and endless battles, peace settled across the kingdoms as the kings had come to an arrangement. All of them would marry her and she would be the queen of all the kingdoms.
While officially the kings and their kingdoms are autonomous and separate, rumors talk of how the queen has all the kings wrapped around her finger and is the true source of authority in Northern Maraal.
Structure
All of the kingdoms here are ruled by their kings but the societies are run by Houses, clans of warlocks with the same patron. The number of members and their strength often decide their position in society. It is common practice for the houses to conceal the identity and nature of their patron. The Houses are constantly competing with one another and it is not uncommon for them to wage hidden wars with one another.
The Houses often recruit unclaimed individuals that show promise but from time to time individuals are chosen by the Patrons directly. Those individuals are often seen as the “chosen ones” and are often envied by the other members of their House. The Houses of the Seven Kingdoms are as follows:
The Crooked House
The Mirrored House
The Flooded House
The Marsh House
House of the Fallen
The House of Cinders
The House of Thorns
House of the Mosaic
The Crimson House
The Silent House
The House of the Single Spine
The House of the Forgotten
The House of Laughter
The House of Feathers
The House of Colors
The House of the Lost
The House of Leaves
The House of Black
The House of Seeds
The House of Clouds
The House of Shadows
The Stage House
The House of Beasts
The House of the Seen
The House of Voices
The House of Wares
The House of Order
The House of Fog
The House of Knowledge
The House of the Forge
Individuals that are not a member of a House are called the Unclaimed and they comprise the majority of the working class. Below them are the goliaths. Goliaths are seen as slaves in every way but name only. They handle all the hard labor and undesirable jobs for copper coins or more drugs.

History
Since the wedding that unified the Seven Kingdoms, the customs and habits have drastically changed. They kingdoms no longer wage war with one another and focus their efforts on collaboration and other things. The first major event to occur in the Seven Kingdoms' history was the Trollbone Exodus. Originally the Goliaths of Northern Maraal were once a proud people who would often raid one another as well as their neighbors to the north. To the Seven kingdoms, goliath invasions were an all too common threat. However, this all changed two and a half centuries ago when a Titan appeared in the northern mountains causing all sorts of destruction as well causing both the giants and wyverns of the mountains to become more active. As a result, the goliaths were forced to flee to the north. Much to their surprise, they were accepted into the seven kingdoms as refugees. Little did they know at the time this would lead to the downfall of their people. It was not long after that the majority of the goliath refugees became addicted to drugs hidden inside the food and firewood provided by the seven kingdoms.
Now the goliaths of northern Maraal are slaves in all but name as they are addicted to the drugs provided by the kingdoms. Very few ever manage to survive the difficult process of removing the drugs from their system. Those that do manage to find themselves free from the influence of the drugs typically only do so as a result of joining a House or joining the Warlock Knights.
