The Khazanian military, more commonly known as The Khazanian Legion, is a collection of professional soldiers that rival all other forces in the Material Plane of The Wraith Globe. This military force rivals all other forces in the Material Plane of The Wraith Globe.

Recruitment

To qualify to enter the Legion, one must end top five in The Grand Tournament of The Champion. The Grand Tournament is based in Kragzbarg, the capital of Khazan. Only the best of the best have ever reached the top five spots, much less sustained their position for the final round of the tournament. The Grand Tournament of The Champion is based around a 5 tier bracket system. To win a match, a challenger must either force their opponent to give up or disable them. Every year, tens of thousands come to see The grand Tournament, as it is one of the combat spectacles of The Wraith Globe; However, no magic is allowed in The Grand Tournament. Magic-users can enter themselves into the tournament but are not allowed to use any magic in their matches under penalty of instant disqualification. Joan Sylvia, The Great Khazan Legionnaire, says this is both to test solely the physical ability of challengers and to follow the rules laid down by the Khazanian ruling council.

History

The Khazanian Legion was first formed in the early days of Khazan. from the gladiator pit that acted as a foundation for Kragzbarg came great Half-Orc warriors. The champions had dominated the bloody sport and were then chosen to act as the special forces of the infant nation's military. Decades later, The Arena of The Champions was built on the ruins of the old gladiator pit in honor of the first champions of The Khazanian Legion. The signatures of all members of The Khazanian Legion, past present, are chiseled into the walls of The Arena of The Champions, even the names of the first champions of Khazan.

Composition

Manpower

There are currently 5,000 professional soldiers hired into The Khazanian Legion. 1,000 of these warriors are fortifying Kragzbarg, the capital of Khazan. Another 1,000 are spread throughout smaller settlements of Khazan. 2,000 act as a border patrol, regulating who and what goes in and out of Khazan. The final 1,000 are located throughout Khazan and are prepared for a sudden invasion or attack on Khazan.

Equipment

Individual members of The Khazanian Legion each have specialized roles in combat (healer, supporter, tank, sniper, etc. However, all members of The Khazanian Legion have a few key pieces of equipment:

• 1 Allorack , or Khazanian throwing scimitar
• 1 50-foot length of hempen rope
• 5 torches
• 1 firestarter kit
• 1 backpack
• 1 canteen
• 3 beads of nourishment
• 1 messenger homunculus companion

Weaponry

The Khazanian Legion carries a wide assortment of non-magic weapons: from maces, mauls, and mattocks to battle axes and bows & arrows. Arsenals truly do range from individual to individual in the Legion. All members of The Khazanian Legion carry an Allorack, or a Khazanian throwing scimitar.
Some members of this great legion even smuggle in magic weapons with subtler effects. Some examples of these "subtler" magical weapons include Defender, the Oathbow, or the sword of sharpness.

Vehicles

The Khazanian Legion usually travels by foot or horse, depending on the situation. When speed is of the essence, horses are bought at the nearest settlement and used as transportation. When stealth and endurance training is needed, groups of The Legion travel by foot. Legion Commanders usually reside in a small barracks. Some more questionable Legion Commanders even use magical Blink Barracks.
Messengers and scouts of The Khazanian Legion commonly use pairs of Angul's Magnificent Wings to glide off of high desert mountain peaks.

Structure

The ranking system of The Khazanian Legion goes as follows: Joan Sylvia, The Great Khazanian Legionnaire, controls all of The Khazanian Legion underneath the jurisdiction of the Khazanian Ruling Council based in Kragzbarg. Underneath Sylvia are her 5 most trusted generals, The Lower Legionnaires. These Lower Legionnaires are good friends of Sylvia and have fought alongside her many a time. Underneath The Lower Legionnaires are the Legion Commanders, who control small groups of infantry within the overall legion. The infantry of The Khazanian Legion is composed of specialized warriors who fit into a certain combat role. They may be the lowest on the command structure, but the Legion infantry is still a mighty force to be reckoned with!

Tactics

Because of their spread forces, The Khazanian Legion is ready for attack or defense at almost any moment. However, even in this formidable fighting force, there are still loopholes and blind spots that can be exploited...
