Bestra Deepstone
An elderly woman dressed in a slinky, slitted navy gown a little too revealing for her age, Bestra is a recovering alcoholic constantly teetering on the edge of relapse. If anything even slightly stressful comes to her attention during the ball, she will grab the nearest glass of wine and down it in a single gulp - then go hunting for more. An hour after her first drink, she drunkenly makes a scene by loudly berating her grandson Yursi for his laziness and general ineptitude. Bestra secretly keeps an untuned lithid crystal on her person at all times, a tiny rebellion that serves no purpose other than to remind her of her anger towards the Crown.
