Deyda River
Formed when the God Purphoros released the Volcano at Mt. Velus during a fight with his brother Heliod, the Deyda River not feeds some of the most fertile soil in Theros. Lush soft earth rests on each side of the bank, extending out into large plains until it reaches back up into the mountains. Despite its green nature, the sides of the river are painted in blood. Broken weapons, destroyed camps, and forgotten posts scattered the desolate lands. Constant fighting between Akros and the Minotaur of Phoberos has left the area a ghost land.
History
Legends say that during an ancient siege of Akros, a champion worked to raise the Deyda River in their attempt to flood an invading minotaur encampment. As the hero felt their ability draining, failure was clear. She offered their life to Keranos if he would aid them in their time of need. Keranos came forth and transformed the river into a raging elemental that consumed the minotaurs in their encampment. Afterward, the hero was claimed by Keranos as she transformed into a pillar of fire and crimson light and ascended into Nyx.
