Part 11: Trouble in Tethmos Report

General Summary

Entering Oreskos you were greeted by a pack of feral beasts.
"A massive, fanged beast rubs its head against you, purring like a kitten. As you reach down to scratch the monster, your sense of smell is immediately heightened, and you feel sickened by the stench of smoke. After a moment of adjustment, you realize you are seeing through the eyes of the beast. A large tree-branch winds into a scythe and crackles with dancing flames. A maternal voice whispers gently, in three weeks my roots into this world will be broken. Restore Komodi  champion, for if you fail - this land will burn. Travel to Tethmos and…find…Kone… the voice trails off before it can finish.

Following the direction of predators, and with the temperature growing rapidly, you found yourself sweating through your armor as it began to stick. Catching your breath, you looked out over a black chasm. Using a potion of growth, Rorauk  wrestled a tree across, making a bridge. But, after crossing you were met with a storm of fire that pushed you all the way to the now burning Tethmos

A pair of intricately carved totem poles greet you to Tethmos, and each crackles with growing flames. A twin pair of giants with beards of living fire begin to shout, “The land has been marked. It shall be set aflame so something fresh may grow in its place.”
As the fight grew to an end, a hooded figure lept from the shadows thrusting a sword into the giants. Then turning to you he lowered his hood, and to your surprise Bathin was standing in front of you. He led the party to the town center, where you wrestled a wildfire spirit and saved the day.

After rescuing the Sun Guide Kone, you were celebrated in the local inn.

As tenders brought intoxicating herbs to the scattered fires that lit the tent, various individuals sought you out in search of help.
  • Salmethe Primeweaver saught out Bathin in search of assistance in her ploy to lure out northern slavers.
  • Cire Solarstride met with Aletha. She argues that there is no way her people are the reason for the Tundercaller dissaperance. She asked that you investigate their last camp to find out what happened.
  • While working with some healers, Nuasika heard rumors about the missing healer Teon Primeweaver and the Sun Guide Oren Embertooth who left with him.
  • Kone told you about political turmoil in Tethmos. You learned about Boxun Solarstride and The Sun Touched Tree. Kone suggested that you would find your artifact of Karametra there.

  • Deciding the artifact to be most important, you headed toward The Sun Touched Tree. Along the way, you have encountered a strange cultist of flame who erupted to ash upon death. You also met a mysterious Fire Elemental in the shape of a Leonin. He called himself Brios Embertooth and begged for help finding Merope.

Upon reaching the massive tree temple, you found it erupt in fire. You defeated a being of pure flame, navigated the collapsing base, defeated a fierce cyclops, and climbed vines to the top.

Standing at the top of Komodi, you can see across the golden Pride lands. The awe of the sigh is overridden by the tall Leonin standing before you. Boxun Solarstride seethes back and for the in front of a flameless forge. Then he spins the fire-touched scythe, making a tunnel of flame. With a hot-headed scoff, he charges toward you.
