Aetherium Shard Weapon

Weapons designed to fire crystals of Aetherium by using the Taidakic force to propel the shard to extremely high velocity.
Although aetherium shard weapons can achieve velocities much higher than railguns of a comperable technology level, its ammunition has become prohibitively expensive. The planet Tebburus is the only known source of aetherium. As such, aetherium shard weapons have never seen action even in the Tebburus Unification War because at this time the Suons lacked knowledge of taidakic fields.
Instead, the Hyperion Federation has developed a kind of particle cannon designed to fire taidakon or kaidaton particles. These sorts of weapons exploit a similar phenomenon except without the kinetic penetration of the shard as the form of damage is heat based. This form of weapon can accelerate taidakons to an extremely high velocity using extremely dense kaidatons, transferring a large quantity of heat in the target which often destroys it. As it does away with the aetherium crystals, taidakon particle cannons have seen use in the suon-saelian war, where they have surprised the Saelian forces with a type of particle cannon that is 'far more powerful than expected'. Taidakon particle cannons remain in service in the HF starfleet, army, navy and air force.
