Bentilae Belt

An asteroid belt in the Bentilae System.
The Bentilae Belt is located betwen Bentilae V and Bentilae VI. Because the system has a Dyson Sphere, the belt is extremely cold. Furthermore, the majority of asteroids have been mined out entirely by the Hyperion Federation using Planck-Dismantlement Beams. They did this for the resources to construct the Dyson sphere with.
The asteroids are largely comprised of ice, though there are also many rock asteroids as well. Some asteroids have houses built into them; it is considered a very light asteroid belt with a very low density. This makes it much more safe and easy to fly starships through. The belt also forms a part of the defence of the system. Although there are comparitively few asteroids, it is still much less open than empty space so the HF set up many defence stations, shipyards and other military bases within the remaining asteroids. These are surprisingly well concealed.
