Bentilae System
A star system in the Carina galaxy. It is under control by the Phelke Commonwealth.
The Bentilae star is a class G star with a Dyson Sphere built around it. Although this would normally cause all planets outside the sphere to become extremely cold, the Bentilae sphere has several large UV photon cannons, each one fires radiation very similar to what the star emits, warming up several planets and makes them habitable. These photon cannons are extremely large and power hungry. They track the location of the planets in real time and predict where they would be after a speed of light delay.
The Bentilae Sphere also features a partially habitable outer surface (the equator, as well as 10 degrees from the equator is habitable land). It is home to billions, and therefore very well defended.
Using Matter Manipulators, there are several Hyperion Federation shipyards orbiting the star. All these shipyards are located outside the Dyson sphere. These shipyards are capable of constructing very large ships should they need. Starships built here serve a critical role in the sytems own defence, as the HF stores starships in high planetary or stellar orbits (and rech them via Teleporters). As a result, the HF starships are everywhere.
Some Freelancers also like to come to the sphere, as they think it looks pretty from orbit. Due to this, there is a tourist attraction factor of the star system.
