Drailad

Sentient species that was conqered by the Alti Dominion in their early history. The Alti homeworld is a binary system between that world and the homeworld of Drailad. The Traxilax homeworld is on Kevra II a and the Drailad homeworld is Kevra II b. The entire Drailad species is under oppression by the Alti. Apart from the Dominion, the Drailad are highly unlikely to form any civilization, having to survive off the land.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

They are unusual for their method of reproduction relying on symbiosis with plants. A species of plants, when fertile, grows several fruit. When the fruit get large enough, it creates a Drailad embryo. This will eventually grow and be born.  Seeds for this plant are carried by the Drailad themselves when they are fertile, and spread it intentionally. This makes Drailad asexual.

Behaviour

Draliad are highly harmonious with each other. Given half a chance, however, they will attempt to kill their opressors.
As the only way to make them reproduce faster is to plant more Drailad plants, they will try to spread and defend those as much as possible.

Average Intelligence

Despite their primitive nature, they are actually smart compared to other sentient species. Their brains are however bad at learning maths or other areas necessary to build a civilization.

Common Myths and Legends

Legends speak of a giant Drailad tree that created the first of their species. Although it does not really exist, it has made a significant impact on their culture. A common symbol is that of a giant tree signifying harmony with nature and other people.
